Cakes for Cause: Can't Get Enough Strawberries?!

MISSED OUT ON STRAWBERRY PALOOZA LAST WEEKEND?
Don’t panic! This weekend you will still have the chance to get some fresh strawberries, but it is probably your LAST CHANCE for the best locally grown ones! So don’t miss out! To keep the theme going, the Cakes for Cause stand will be selling strawberry shortcake biscuits for pairing with your berries and cream and we will feature fresh strawberry basil muffins.  We found a recipe for them that we want to try...it has strawberries, fresh basil, wheat bran and a yummy crumble topping...if you squint hard, they definitely look healthy.  Join us at the West Frederick Farmer's Market (Saturdays at Baughman's Lane from 10:00-1:00).  Pure strawberry bliss!

DITCH YOUR NORMAL MORNING COFFEE ROUTINE ON SATURDAY
We will be selling freshly roasted coffee beans from the ladies at Dublin Roasters (located in historic downtown Newmarket).  What makes Dublin Roaster Coffee so special, you ask? The owner, Serina Roy, starts with fresh beans and then roasts them herself, just the way you like it! For more information, visit Dublin Roaster Coffee.

SPECIAL GUEST IN THE HOUSE
Award–winning chef, Bryan Voltaggio, will be joining the community at the Market this Saturday. He will doing a cooking demo with products from the market. For those of you who are unaware of Bryan's reputation, he is the brilliant executive chef and co-owner of VOLT, located at 228 N Market Street which offers a menu focused on Modern American Cuisine. For those of you who already know him, we ask that you try not to act too starstruck if you happen to run into him...please try to remain calm! We are excited about the possibility of having him visit our stand!

VOLUNTEERING WITH CAKES FOR CAUSE
The Cakes for Cause Farmer’s Market stand is staffed entirely by volunteers. If you are interested in helping out and getting involved in the community, we would love to have you! It is a great way to meet new people and spread the word about Cakes for Cause.  You can sign up to help at our volunteer calendar.
